What Is Engagement Media?

At Visual Savvy we believe YOU need to reach out to YOUR audience. An audience at the forefront of a digital age. SMS, Internet, Blackberry and other forms of new media technology have opened up a plethora of communication opportunities that connect people around the world, which there for build.......relationships!

It is through new media that are able to maintain and also build on these relationships. The term new media refers to various technologies that have emerged or seen rapid growth on a global scale during the latter part of the 20th century and into the new millennium. Most people who have an Internet connection are already aware of some of the major types of new media, which includes social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as blogs and video sharing sites such as YouTube. New media has also greatly advanced cellular communications in the last twenty years, through applications that connect with the Internet and other technologies. As new media is constantly evolving to connect to as many different platforms and people as possible, one of its most defining characteristics is interactivity. It is this interactivity that many global corporations recognise as vital for communicating and perhaps more importantly interacting with customers in a much more valuable way than a basic 'anchor down' website. Why wait for a customer to come to you when you can go to them? By including these customers in discussions, often tailored toward a specific interest or product, a company can gain insight into where customer trends are headed but also use their involvement to help create and develop ideas and concepts. It is the companies that have embraced engagement media the most that seem to be gaining the most benefits and by doing this, brand loyalty will always follow. Mutual respect combined with interesting content = a relationship that can flourish.

Be considerate. Be different.
